Jawad Al – Ma’arij is an Iraqi academic staff at the faculty of Arts / Department of Translation/ University of Basrah. His main line of interest is translation, contrastive linguistics, discourse analysis, and general linguistics. He obtained his BA and MA degrees from the University of Basrah, but his Ph.D. was awarded to him from the University of Shahid Chamran of Ahvaz in Iran. He published several articles in both national and international journals. He participated in conferences focusing on linguistics and translation issues in Iraq and Iran.

His research interests in the implementation of Quality Systems and Models in Higher Education and SMEs, Service Quality, Enterprise, and Entrepreneurial Development.
