She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics with special interest in Syntax from the Abia State University, Nigeria. She has over fifteen years experience in second and foreign language teaching. She has taught Syntax, Applied Linguistics, and semantics in Caritas University, Amorji Nike Enugu, Nigeria and Clifford University, Owerrinta, Nigeria. Gift holds a Masters in English language from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. She is currently, the State coordinator, English Language Teachers’ Association of Nigeria (ELTAN), Abia State chapter. Gift is also a member of International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign language (IATEFL) and West African Languages Society (WALS). She served as a Head of Department of English in Caritas University for two years and the pioneer head, Department of English, Clifford University. She led the Department of English to earn a full accreditation of the Nigerian University Commission (NUC). Gift has actively participated in many international research conferences and published widely in reputable and referred journals.
