The administrative board of the scholar worldwide (schwlar) Foundation visited Mr. Mehmet Ozkon Arman, the Turkish General Consul in Basra who received the conference shield on his efforts and initiative to support the Third International Conference for Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences RCSH-21 as well as for assisting the Children’s Orchestra in Basra and facilitating their travel to Antalya، Turkey by offering free visas and adequate housing as to make their part in the conference opening ceremony a Successful one.
In this context, Ozkon said: One of the tasks of the Turkish Consulate in Basra is showinh the bright cultural face that this city bears and highlighting the talents of its citizens, and we must show the world that Basra is the city of culture and art, contrary to what is published in the media which reflects negative images about Iraq and Basra in particular. He said, “We will work together with Basra citizens to provide support for cultural and artistic activities that will show the positive side of the city.”
He referred to the efforts of the Governor of Basra, Engineer Asaad Al-Eidani, who greatly contributed to embracing the talented children by providing airline tickets to facilitate their participation.
It is worth noting that Schwlar Foundation is an Iraqi institution specialized in scientific and academic affairs, working to organize international conferences and training courses inside and outside Iraq.
