Demonstrative Pronouns & their Connotations between the Arabic & English Text, a Study in Translational Equivalence For English Department Students- University of Basra

Abstract

The translation process is considered among the most sufficient human arts in transmitting knowledge from one language to another, in which humans are able to view the most recent in foreign culture and general knowledge. On the other hand, translation requires well-prepared experts who fully recognize the proper mechanisms of word choice and terminology, since the Arabic speaker encounters considerable difficulties in the process of choosing Arabic terms equivalent to specific English vocabulary and vice versa, which eventually results in a noticeable confusion in the communication process, reflecting deficiency in the levels of explaining and understanding the mutual messages.
