Abstract

Context constitutes a fundamental pillar in elucidating the intended meanings of discourse, as Arabic vocabulary is characterized by semantic dynamism that frees meaning from rigidity and reveals its linguistic depth according to contextual positioning within the humanities. From this perspective, the article examines semantic transformations in Arabic vocabulary through an interdisciplinary approach that employs automated analysis tools to explore heritage and contemporary texts, adopting al ʿAfw’ (forgiveness) as an applied case to identify patterns of semantic change. The study addresses limitations in Arabic linguistic research concerning the interpretation of meaning shifts across diverse contexts and the lack of integrative frameworks linking traditional linguistic analysis with applied sciences, particularly artificial intelligence. It aims to clarify the role of context in shaping semantic transformations and to highlight the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in semantic analysis by proposing a methodological framework that combines contextual linguistic analysis with automated tools, enabling more accurate tracking of semantic change in the Holy Qur’an, heritage texts, and modern Arabic discourse.
