Agricultural and industrial production during the reign of Imam Ali

Abstract

This research studies the agricultural and industrial activity during the era of Imam Ali (peace be upon him). Imam Ali (peace be upon him) paid great attention to the process of agriculture and industry because they represent the backbone of the resources of the public treasury and the main resource of the state’s economy. Imam Ali (peace be upon him) realized the importance of agriculture and industry in building the state، and that the prosperity and stability of the Islamic society can only be achieved through the development of its agricultural and industrial resources. Therefore، he worked to stimulate agriculture by reviving dead lands، digging rivers، and encouraging farmers. He also supported industrial activity by encouraging and caring for craftsmen and monitoring markets in order to continue work and production in a way that ensures economic balance according to an integrated economic policy in terms of goals and resulting effects.
