The Need of Engineering Technology Disciplines to Social Sciences
Main Article Content
Abstract
.Although the title of the conference is Modern trends in the humanities and social sciences, the researcher, as an engineer, sees, and among what must be keeping pace with modern trends, the necessity of teaching the humanities and social sciences to specialists in the fields of technological sciences in its various precise specializations. For many years, the researcher believed that teaching engineering science technology required knowledge of its negative effects from a health and social standpoint.
His convictions were firmly established that in order to reduce these negative effects, social science courses must be added to the curricula of engineering science disciplines. Today, the researcher considers this conference an opportunity to renew his idea and present it for discussion, as this idea is a new research direction that serves the social sciences.
The researcher poses the question: To what extent do technological specializations need social sciences? The paper will discuss the importance of teaching some social science courses to students in technology majors, instead of employing technology to serve the social sciences. Technology today, though important, has its own dangerous and disastrous pitfalls. Therefore, the paper will examine how social sciences can contribute to refining and restricting uncontrolled technology with social human controls.
