Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the development of specific physical skills among female students in the Applied Physical Education Department at Yarmouk University through the use of a circular interval training method. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher employed a single-group experimental design using a pre-test and post-test approach, as it was deemed appropriate for the nature and aims of the research. The study sample consisted of forty-five female students enrolled in swimming courses. The experimental group participated in the proposed training program through two instructional units per week, with each session lasting sixty minutes. The collected data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results of the study indicated that the circuit interval training method was effective in developing the targeted physical skills among students enrolled in swimming courses. Based on these findings, the researcher recommends placing greater emphasis on improving specific components of physical fitness, particularly speed–strength and specific endurance, due to their important role in enhancing physical performance.
