Main Article Content
Abstract
This research examines the impact of the Battle of Karbala (the martyrdom of Imam Hussein ibn Ali, peace be upon him) on Iraqi poetry and its role in shaping the expressive intonation of Husseini chants, characterized by profound grief and sorrow. It explores the psychological and emotional effects on poetic texts, which, in turn, influenced the expressive intonation of these chants through the use of melody and rhythm to convey the tragedy and associated emotions. By conducting an analytical study of selected poetic texts, the research aims to uncover the literary and artistic dimensions that contribute to the emotional and expressive experience within Husseini chants. This influence has become an integral part of Iraqi literary identity, adding depth and richness to its literary heritage. The research includes an introduction, a methodological framework outlining the problem, objectives, significance, scope, and terminology; a theoretical framework addressing the impact of the Battle of Karbala on Arabic poetry and the expressive intonation in Husseini chants; and an analytical framework detailing the methodology, sample, tools, validity, and analysis. The study concludes with findings, recommendations, and a list of references.
