Focus of study in library and digital information management Challenges of University Libraries in Light of the Digital Environment: A Case Study of the Central Library at Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences as a “model”

Abstract

The study aimed to shed light and expose the issue of the condition of the central library at Ibn Sina University of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences in light of the digital environment and monitor the most important obstacles facing it by adopting the descriptive approach (case study) and adopting both interview and observation for the current study. It reached a set of results. The library lacks sufficient space to receive the number of students and faculty members and spaces designated for benefiting from digital resources. It suffers from the absence of specialists in the field of information technology، weak technological infrastructure regarding to providing computers and their supplies، facilitating communications، providing Internet connection، and permanent maintenance of the devices.
