Abstract

The story, like other literary genres, has broken from its closed settlements, to open up to other genres that cross-pollinate or correspond with them constructively, which gives them movement on other horizons. The research examined the gender (story) that escapes the fixed stereotyping of other known literary genres, We chose the stories (Eyes of the Enemy) by Italo Calvino, which are global narrative experiences that are devoted to research, to provide a semi logical critical approach in the light of the communicative sign, the approach intensified its efforts to investigate the elements of the optical image and its formations in the construction of the selected narrative text despite the multiplicity and difference of its authors, However, it calls for readership attempts to decipher the shadows of meaning. We seek to identify the structures of the text and reveal its interpretations and interpretations, including the apparent, the implicit, the revealed, the hidden, and the dynamic given. The narrative text nominated for study required a careful examination of the meaning of the word as a constituent image of its verbality, and we must clarify the analysis of the light context, Hence the interactive context of that light sign, and standing at the suggestive connotation "shadow of meaning" in the text by identifying its interpretations.
