The International Multidisciplinary Conference on Social Sciences &Humanities (IMCoSH)

is a  forum discussing ideas, theories and research findings from various fields in the social sciences and humanities.

 

This edition of IMCoSH will be jointly held at the Akdeniz University and Avantgarde Resort Hotel located in Antalya on the Turkish Mediterranean coast.

CALL FOR PAPERS

The International Multidisciplinary Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities (IMCoSH) 2019 is a forum that will bring together leading scholars, researchers and practitioners from around the world to discuss key topics and research findings from various fields in the social sciences and humanities.

With the slogan “Connecting Minds: Seeking Global Perspectives on Social Science and Humanities Research“, the IMCoSH organizing committee is calling for papers to be presented at the event.

Discounted rates will also be given to co-authors whose main authors have made payment at the normal rate.

Abstract Submissions:

Abstract submission is compulsory for all presenters. All submissions must be performed online via the event’s web-based system. Click on the ‘Register Now‘ button on the menu bar to start the registration/submission process.

All accepted abstracts will be featured in the conference program booklet. Presenters are advised to take into consideration the following requirements while preparing their abstracts:

Abstracts must be written in English, Turkish or Arabic

Titles must be written with proper capitalization and must not exceed 15 words.

The body of the abstract must contain the following information:

objective/purpose/rationale of the study

research design/methodology

overview of findings/trends (expected or preliminary results if the research is still in progress)

any conclusion/interpretations/discussions that could be drawn from the result of the study.

The abstract text must be written in one continuous paragraph not longer than 300 words.  The use of numbered lists, bullet points or tables is not allowed.

The entire body of the abstract must be entered into the text field provided by the event’s online submission system. A Microsoft Word version of the abstract must also be uploaded using the file upload tool provided.

A SUBMISSION TEMPLATE has been provided for authors as a sample.

Full Paper Submissions:

All full papers must be uploaded in MS Word format via the event’s web-based system. Click HERE to access the system.

Full papers are NOT REQUIRED from authors who don’t require publication of their work in the conference’s online proceedings or if their papers have already been published elsewhere. In this case, an abstract-only submission is sufficient.

Authors are advised to download the conference’s official template to ensure that their papers meet the event’s formatting requirements.

Full papers (including all tables, figures, and appendices) must not exceed 15 pages long.  A fee of USD35 per page will be imposed for every additional page beyond this limit. A separate invoice will be issued to the author if this limit has been exceeded.

Presenters will be notified via email if their papers have been accepted. Acceptance notifications will normally come with suggestions and remarks from a reviewer. IF a presenter wishes to modify the paper based on these comments, he or she must upload the amended version as a camera-ready paper via the online system.

Authors are advised to NOT submit their full papers if they don’t plan to seek publication in the proceedings or if the work had already been published elsewhere. In this case, an abstract-only submission will be sufficient.

Presentations:

The event offers two modes of presentations that authors can choose from i.e. Oral and Poster.

Oral Presentations

In this category, presenters are be given 15-20 minutes to present their work orally.  An additional 5-10 minutes will then be added for Q&A. Unless given permission by the event committee, all presentations must be conducted in English.

Each session will be moderated by a session chair who will be appointed from among the conference participants prior to the event.

For the benefit of the audience, the presentation should at least cover the following areas:

The objective/purpose/rationale of the study

Background/overview of the topic

Theoretical framework

Research design and methodology

Overview of findings and results

Conclusion/Discussion

Please be prepared with enough material to fill the time allocated to you. The use of visual aids (e.g. MS Powerpoint or Prezi) is compulsory.

Poster Presentations

This event also accepts posters as an alternative to oral presentations.

A special viewing and Q&A session will be held for presenters who had opted to use posters. Authors are expected to be present during this session to answer questions or provide explanations to visitors during the session.

All posters must come in A0 size i.e. 841mm x 1189 (portrait orientation). Please notify the event secretariat as early as possible if you need to use a different size or orientation to avoid any difficulties on the conference day.

Poster presentations are subject to the availability of presentation slots and physical space at the venue.

The event committee may request a change of presentation modes depending on the situation during the event.

Publication:

All accepted abstracts will be featured in the conference programme booklet. The booklet will be distributed to all participants during the event.

Full papers that have been submitted and accepted for publication will be published in a SPECIAL ISSUE of the Proceedings of ICSAI Conferences (POIC) e-ISSN 2682-7697 available online.

If shortlisted, some authors will be offered an opportunity to be published in the International Journal of Language, Literature, Culture, and Education (ISSN 2462-1846) by ICSAI.org. Selection of articles will be based a number of factors including, among other things, quality of research, originality, and style. Selected papers may be required to undergo further review and editing before actual publication.

1. We normally email abstract acceptance notifications to authors as soon as the review process has been completed. Please ensure that you had entered a working email address during registration and check your spam folder in case our mail was routed there. Please contact the conference secretariat if no result (acceptance or rejection) is received by the fifth working day after your submission.

2. Please make your payment before the deadline to ensure that your paper is included in the printed conference program and proceedings CD-ROM. We will not be able to guarantee your place if payment is received later than this date.

About Antalya

Antalya is located on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. Blessed with a beautiful coastline and turquoise waters, it is one of Europe’s most popular holiday destinations.

Historically, the region has been part of many great empires ranging from the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines and the Ottomans. This can be seen in the many sites of historical significance that dot the region.

Presentation Venues

Presentation sessions at IMCoSH 2019 will be held at the Akdeniz University campus near Kaleici, Antalya on the first day. On the second day, presentations will be held at the Avantgarde Resort Hotel in nearby Kemer.

Akdeniz University

Accommodations (Avantgarde Resort Hotel)

The conference package includes a three-night stay at the Avantgarde Resort Hotel, Kemer between 7-10 November 2019.

Accommodation will be provided on a twin-sharing basis (i.e. two participants per room). Please see below if a non-sharing room is required.

Upgrading to Single Rooms

Single occupancy rooms are available on a first come first serve basis and will be charged an additional USD 260 per person.

Upgrades can only be requested after the conference fee has been paid in full. Please contact the conference secretariat to request an upgrade.

Additional Nights

Please contact Avantgarde Resort Hotel directly if additional nights are required at the hotel.

TRAVEL & IMMIGRATION

Entering Turkey

Foreign nationals may enter the country through various land checkpoints, airports and seaports all over the country. The most common way to get to Antalya in to fly commercially to Istanbul Airport (IATA code: IST) or Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (IATA code: SAW) and then take a domestic flight to Antalya.

There are also direct flights into Antalya International Airport(IATA code: AYT) operated by some major airlines.

Currently, EU and citizens from a selected number of nations may enter Turkey for tourism purposes without a visa for a limited time period. That being said, many nationalities are still required to apply for a visa upon arrival or from their home country.

We strongly advise checking entry and visa requirements related to visitors from your country before making travel arrangements. For accurate information please contact the Turkish embassy/consulate in your home country or visit the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs official website HERE.
